A living will (sometimes referred to as an Advanced Medical Directive) is a legal document that allows you to pre-emptively express your wishes and provide instructions regarding medical treatment and end of life care (including life support) if you are in a serious accident, a coma, or incapacitated by a long term illness and unable to express your wishes at the time.
