Workplace Benefits: the HSA

Last week we covered the 401(k) and this week we’re talking about another workplace benefit: the Health Savings Account, or HSA.
An HSA is a special savings account that goes with some health insurance plans. You use money from your HSA to pay for out of pocket health expenses. What makes it special? Well, for starters money you put into an HSA isn’t taxed as income (up to a certain amount) so you pay less in taxes on April 15th. But that’s not the only benefit.
