Here’s where to start when teaching kids about money

September’s topic here at BrightDime is family. Our focus will be on how to build positive money knowledge, skills, and habits for kids, but if you don’t have kids don’t skip this! It would be great to think we all know more about money than a fifth grader but there will be something for everyone to learn over the next few weeks.

We’re staring with something that you’ve probably heard about recently: the “financial mindset.” We think this terms gets misused a lot. At BrightDime, we define a financial mindset as a set of skills that help people treat money as a tool to achieve their goals, not as a source of stress, confusion, and worry. Here’s how to help kids (and maybe yourself) build a financial mindset.
