Your Credit Score May Increase Soon!
After the CFPB (Consumer Financial Protection Bureau) found issues with the credit reporting process last year they recommended changes to how civil judgement and tax lien data should be handled. On April 16th, the final piece will be put in place and the remaining tax lien data will be removed from credit reports.
By some estimates as many as 11% of Americans could be affected by these changes and could see their credit scores jump by as much as 30 points. It’s not a huge increase, but it’s a step in the right direction.
