Protect Yourself from Identity Theft
Identity theft can mean a lot of different things but at it’s most basic it’s someone pretending to be you in order to get something they shouldn’t be able to. It could be making charges with your credit card, opening a new credit card in your name without you knowing it, hijacking your tax refund, the list goes on. As more and more of our lives move online it can be overwhelming to try and control all the places your personal information ends up.
So what can you do to protect yourself? We recommend protecting your personal information as much as possible, monitoring your various accounts and credit regularly to spot issues early, and making it hard for identity thieves to abuse your credit if they do get your information. We’ve got the details on how to do that here.
